Saltoftehus

3 of 5 Stars

Saltoftehus, with tranquillity, timbered houses and a modern conference centre, lies in the countryside in West Zealand.

The building sits on 400 hectares of picturesque, agricultural land near Kalundborg. It is approximately one hour’s drive from Copenhagen. Accommodation is in historic buildings, namely, The Horse Stable, The Student Wing and The Fruit Storage. The building's exterior reveals its age, while the modern interior has the latest technology and is in accord with Green Key standards. The amenities which include comfort, flexibility and high-speed internet with worldwide connection, meet the demands of our international clientele.

Enjoy the estate’s private forest and the surrounding countryside which offers fresh air, open skies and beautiful birdsong.

Saltoftehus and Saltofte Estate are heated by a modern CO2-neutral Faust straw boiler. The entire property, powered by solar cells, is self-sufficient and CO2 neutral. The drinking water is also CO2-neutral, and three newly renovated buildings use low-energy bulbs.

Area

Central and West Zealand

In Central Zealand you will find Roskilde with the Cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum and in the area National Park Skjoldungernes Land and Roskilde and Holbæk Fjord.

The western part of Zealand offers small cozy towns such as Kalundborg, Korsør, Sorø and Skælskør and quiet harbors and beautiful fjords, and nature invites you to explore it by bike, by hiking or kayaking.

Jump on the bike and drive along one of Sjællands Vestkysts ten gastronomic cycle routes, where in the fresh air you get a healthy appetite. Taste local produce from the small organic producers and treat your taste buds with a glass of Danish produced wine from the vineyard. Or was it something with an (old) Nordic hot dog at the Viking Castle Trelleborg.
